Age and Fertility: Why Timing Matters, and When to Consider Egg Freezing

How age affects the chances of pregnancy and the egg reserve, and what egg freezing is and who it suits.

Dr. Ramy Agamy

As you get older, do the chances of pregnancy drop? Unfortunately... yes.

How does age affect fertility?

  • From age 35, a woman's fertility starts to decline gradually.
  • After 38, it declines faster.

The reserve drops, and so does egg quality.

But this doesn't mean there's no chance... quite the opposite. We just need to act early and consider options like IUI or ICSI, depending on the case.

If you're over 35 and have been trying for a year, it's time to act.

What is egg freezing?

Postponing pregnancy? Have you thought about freezing your eggs?

Egg freezing suits any woman over 30 who isn't ready for pregnancy yet.

  1. We stimulate the ovary.
  2. We retrieve the eggs.
  3. We freeze them at high quality.

The goal: to preserve your chances of pregnancy in the future.
